Stout sweeps Carleton, Macalester for second consecutive week

ST. PAUL, Minn (September 5, 2014) - Middle hitter Morgan Denny (Sr, Luck) recorded 11 kills in each match as UW-Stout defeated Carleton College, 3-1, and Macalester College, 3-0, Friday at the Macalester College Invitational.
 
Denny also recorded one solo block and four assisted blocks against Carleton and one solo block and two assisted blocks against Macalester.

The Blue Devils (4-0) had come from behind the 8-ball after the first set with Carleton, getting demolished, 25-8. But the Blue Devils did come back strong, taking the final three sets, 25-14, 26-24, 25-17. The match with Macalester wasn't quite as close with Stout taking a 25-18, 25-18, 25-21 decision.

Laura Reiter (Jr, Lino Lakes, Minn) notched nine kills against Macalester.

Stout had beaten Carleton and Macalester by identical match scores last weekend to open the season at the St. Olaf Invitational.
 
Stout will face Beloit College and Minn-Morris Saturday, Sept. 6  in the final day of the tournament
