UW-River Falls at UW-Stout postponed from Wednesday, Oct. 1 has been rescheduled for Sunday, Oct. 5 at 5 p.m. at Nelson Field.
THIS WEEK'S GAMES: The Blue Devils (2-5-2, 1-1-0 WIAC) had their schedule shaken up when their regularly scheduled game with UW-River Falls (4-3-2, 0-1-1 WIAC) was rained out Wednesday, Oct. 1 and will be played Sunday, Oct. 5 at 5 p.m. Stout will begin a four-game homestand, the longest of the season, when they host UW-La Crosse (3-2-3, 1-0-1 WIAC), Saturday, Oct. 4 at 2 p.m.

BLUE DEVILS LAST TIME OUT: The Blue Devils lost a pair of 1-0 games, even though they outshot both Macalester College, Sept. 23 and UW-Oshkosh, Sept. 27. A LOOK AT UW-STOUT: Jenna Kizlik and Lauren Kizlik both have a pair of goals to lead Stout in scoring. Jenna Kizlik has added an assist. Kelly Conn got on the stat sheet a week ago when she scored and tallied an assist against UW-Platteville. Sarah Todey, after missing the first several games, scored her first collegiate goal and has tallied an assist. Nikki Sedivy and Emma DeRubuis each have an assist. Paige Meyer has a goals against average of 1.20 and has played all but 24 minutes between the pipes. Kristi Schurhammer played the other 24 minutes and has stopped the four shots she has faced. The Blue Devils have allowed more than two goals only once the season, have four games of holding their opponent to one goal and have recorded two shutouts. . A LOOK AT UW-RIVER FALLS:  The Falcons' Alex Swatloski leads the WIAC in goals, finding the back of the net six times. Abby Soderholm is second in the WIAC in goals with five goals. The pair are on top of the WIAC in points as well, with Swatloski posting 12 points. Soderholm has an assist and has 11 points. The Falcons are second in the conference in goals scored with 17 and are averaging 1.89 per game, while giving up eight total for an average of 0.89.  Karla Windingstad and Carrie Anderson each have scored two goals. Kenzie Weisman and Jenna Marier have pssed off four assists apiece. Erica Cimochowski has worked nearly 800 minutes in goal, posting a goals against average of 0.91. Defensively, the Falcons have not allowed more than two goals in a single game and have four shutouts, but were shutout for the second consecutive game in a 2-0 loss at UW-Whitewater, Sept. 27. THE LAST TIME STOUT AND RIVER FALLS MET: On a chilly October 23, 2013, afternoon in River Falls, Lauren Kizlik scored the only goal of the game, scoring in the 14th minute, to give Stout a 1-0 win.   With the snowflakes lightly falling, Kizlik unleashed a shot from about 20 yards out that found the back of the net and the Blue Devil defense made the goal standup. Paige Meyer recorded six saves, five in the second to seal the shutout win. The Falcons outshot Stout 8-7 and put six shots on frame compared to three for Stout. | Story and Stats
A LOOK AT UW-LA CROSSE: The Eagles have been stingy this year, but it hasn't translated into a ton of wins. Similar to Stout, the Eagles have given up more than two goals in only one game, have allowed only one goal in three games and have three shutouts. The Eagles are coming off a 2-1 win over UW-Eau Claire Sept. 27, scoring twice the second half to overcome a 1-0 halftime deficit. Sarah Jacobs and Kelly Denk. Denk is the only Eagle to record more than one goal so far this season, taking a team-leading two goals. Rachel Roghan has a goal and an assist. Jacobs, Kristen Anderson, Megan Gresl, and Ali Roberts each have a goal. Four other Eagles have one assist. THE LAST TIME STOUT AND LA CROSSE MET: Camille Fawcett scored the game-winning goal only a couple of minutes into overtime to lift UW-Stout to a 2-1 win over UW-La Crosse last September. Fawcett took a nice cross pass from Kelly Conn 1-minute, 45-seconds into the overtime period and headed the ball into the net to give Stout their first conference win of the season and to break a seven game winless streak. AWARDS:Â Paige Meyer, Jenna Kizlik, Lauren Kizlik and now assistant coach Emily Ferger were selected to the All-WIAC team, onlly the second time Stout has placed four players on the squad.
TEAM CAPTAINS: Blue Devil team captains for the 2014 season are Sarah Ulrich, Vanessa Wrobel and Jenna Kizlik.
UW-STOUT COACH RYAN RAUFUS: Coach Ryan Raufus (27-29-7) is in his fourth year as the head coach of the Blue Devils. Raufus played his college ball at Springfield College in Massachusetts and came to Stout after coaching at La Crosse Logan High School and La Crescent, Minn., High School.
QUICK HITS:Â The Blue Devils overcame a slow start last season. Hampered by early season injuries, Stout won two of their first 10 games, but won six of their final nine games.

Alix Hyduke (Duluth, Minn.) currently leads the 2013 team with six goals scored. In scoring her first five goals over the first three games of the season, Hyduke matched Alyssa Halverson as the only Blue Devil to accomplish that feat. Halverson scored her first five goals over three games in 1999 and went on to score 14 goals on the season...
