Laura Reiter (So, Lino Lakes, Minn) had a couple of big hitting matches as UW-Stout split their matches on the final day of the St. Catherine Invitational.
The Blue Devils had their hands full in all three sets, but beat Loras College, 3-0, but needed to work hard for the wins. Stout took the match 27-25, 25-23, 25-23. Reiter had 14 kills in the match and
Rachel Tschumperlin (So, Fairmont, Minn) had 10.
The Blue Devils (8-3) fell in the final match of the tournament to Hamline University, 3-1. The Pipers carried the match, 22-25, 25-16, 25-15, 25-23. Reiter finished with 17 kills against Hamline and was named to the all-tournament team.
Morgan Denny (Jr, Luck) had 11 kills.
Stout will host Northland College, Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 7 p.m. and UW-Stevens Point, Saturday, Sept. 21 at noon.
