MENOMONIE (September 11, 2013) - UW-Stout was a slow starter and when they finally got going, it was too late as the Blue Devils dropped a 3-0 decision to Augsburg College Wednesday night in the their home opener at Johnson Fieldhouse.
The Auggies (7-2) took the first set, 25-13, and the second set 25-18. Stout came back in the third set to make it competitive, but Augsburg came away with the sweep on a 25-23 decision.
The Auggies Colleen Ourada had 11 kills, three solo blocks and two assisted blocks. Augsburg put down six service aces, compared to none for Stout (5-2).
Morgan Denny (Jr, Luck) led Stout with 11 kills.
Stout will be at the St. Catherine Invitational, Friday, Sept. 13 and Saturday, Sept. 14, then return home to host Northland College, Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 7 p.m.
