MENOMONIE (September 11, 2013) - While UW-Stout drew first blood, it was Macalester College that kept scratching away and the Scots came off Nelson Field with a 2-1 win Wednesday.
Lauren Kizlik (Fr, Hammond( scored her first collegiate goal when she got the Blue Devils (2-4-0) on the board in the 10th minutes, scoring unassisted.
But the Scots (2-1-1) knotted the score when Maggie Molter scored in the 17th minutes, on an assist from Georgia Cloepfil. The duo would repeat the feat when Molter scored the game-winner in the 83rd minute.
The Blue Devils had a chance with less than 30 seconds to go on a corner kick. But even though the kick by
Jessica Goodrich (Sr, Munster, Ind) went into the box, the Blue Devils came up empty.
Paige Meyer (So, Beldenville) had seven saves for Stout, while Saskia Ilcisin had three for the Scots.
Stout will be at 25th ranked St. Benedict, Sunday, Sept. 15, then return home Wednesday, Sept. 18 to host Viterbo University at 7 p.m.
