UW-River Falls 70, UW-Stout 64
RIVER FALLS (December 11, 2013) - Despite 29 points and six rebounds from
Jimmy Whitehead (Sr, La Crosse), the 19th ranked Blue Devils had no other players in double figures and fell 70-64 to River Falls.
The game was a back and forth afair throughout, with Stout leading for the first seven minutes of the second half. From the 13 minute mark on, River Falls led for much of the rest of the game and took the final lead of the game with 1:18 left on the clock.
Stout (7-2, 2-1 WIAC) outshot River Falls from the field, (48.9 percent to 45.2 percent) and from three point range, (38.9 percent to 37.5 percent). The Blue Devils also outrebounded the Falcons 29-26. The difference in the game came down to free throws. River Falls went 26-36 from the foul line compared to just 11-16 for the Blue Devils.
Aaron Jenny (Sr, Spicer Minn.) added nine points, five assists and four rebounds for Stout.
River falls had four players score in double figures. They were lead by Ben Gresmer's 17 points. Ollie White added 16 points for the Falcons. Jay Sewer added 15 points, five rebounds and four assists on the game. Connor Goodwin lead River falls in rebounding with six.
The Blue Devils will be off until Saturday, Dec. 28 when they travel to the land of magic tournament in Daytona Beach, Florida for two games.
