MENOMONIE (October 26, 2013) - Emily Ferger's (Sr, Wauwatosa) header in the second overtime period lifted UW-Stout to a 1-0 win over UW-Stevens Point Saturday at Nelson Field.

After a scoreless regulation and first overtime period, Stout (7-8-1, 5-2-0 WIAC) pressed the Pointers early in the second overtime period to draw a corner kick. Jenna Kizlik (So, Hammond) delivered the ball and Ferger punched the ball into the upper lefthand corner of the net for her second game-winning goal of the season. The goal game just shy of three minutes into the second overtime period.

Lauren Kizlik (Fr, Hammond) had an opportunity to end the game in the first overtime period. Kizlik worked her way through the Pointer (4-11-2, 2-5-0 WIAC) defense, only to be turned back by goalkeeper Kristen Churkey, who finished the afternoon with 10 saves. Stout's Paige Meyer (So, Beldenville) recorded six saves and her second consecutive shutout.

The win locks up the third seed for the Blue Devils in the WIAC Tournament.  Stout will travel to UW-Platteville, Saturday, Nov. 2 to close out the regular season, then will host a first round playoff game, Tuesday, Nov. 5.
