W-Stout 3, UW-La Crosse 1
LA CROSSE (October 25, 2013) - After a disappointing loss earlier in the week, UW-Stout bounced back to take an exciting 3-1 win over UW-La Crosse in Mitchell Hall Friday.
After dropping the first set 25-19, Stout (14-13, 2-5 WIAC) overpowered the Eagles, 25-11, in the second set. In set three, Stout jumped out to a 23-14 lead, then held off La Crosse (12-12, 4-3 WIAC) for a 25-20 win. The fourth set wavered back and forth by only a few points throughout before Stout prevailed, 28-26.
Morgan Denny (Jr, Luck) led the way with 12 kills, two service aces, three solo blocks and two assisted blocks.
Emily Crew (Jr, Maplewood, Minn) added 10 kills, one solo block and three assisted blocks.
The Eagles' Laura Probst led all players with 15 kills.
Stout had lost 3-0 to La Crosse two weeks earlier at the UW-Eau Claire Invitational.
Stout will be at UW-Platteville, Saturday, Oct. 26, to close out the Blue Devils' conference schedule.
