Offensive-minded Viterbo team shuts out Blue Devils, 2-0

LA CROSSE (September 5, 2012) - Viterbo University took advantage of a couple of opportunities and made the best of them as they defeated UW-Stout, 2-0, Wednesday.

The V-Hawks (5-1) scored off a corner kick in the first half, then clinched the game with a successful penalty kick in the second hafl.

Robbie Shelby (So, La Crosse) absorbed the loss, recording five saves, including an outstanding save in the first half.

"This is one of the best offensive teams we will see," said. second year coach Ryan Raufus. "We are not creating chances to score."

The Blue Devils (1-2) will make their first home appearance Sunday, Sept. 9 when they host St. Benedict at 1 p.m. at Nelson Field.
