MENOMONIE (September 22, 2012) -
Ashley Gibson (So, Lindstrom, Minn) and
Dana Hentges (So, Andover, Minn) scored their first collegiate goals as UW-Stout rolled over UW-Superior, 3-0, Saturday at Nelson Field.
Gibson got the Blue Devils (3-3-2, 1-1-1 WIAC) going early in the game when she scored unassisted in the 14th minute off a free kick.
Five minutes later,
Alix Hyduke (Jr, Duluth, Minn) scored her fourth goal of the season to give Stout a 2-0 lead.
Stout got their final goal of the game when Hentges took a pass from Hyduke only minutes after entering the game in the 75th minute.
The Stout defense shut down the Yellowjackets (2-5-0, 0-3-0 WIAC), allowing only three total shots and one shot on net, that coming early in the game.
Stout will be at St. Norbert, Sunday, Sept. 23 for a 2 p.m. contest.
