Box Score UW-Stevens Point 4, UW-Stout 3
STEVENS POINT (December 8, 2012) - After UW-Stout tied the score in the third period, UW-Stevens Point came back to score the winning goal in overtime for a 4-3 decision at KB Willett Arena Saturday.
Jason Cohen (Sr, Anchorage, Alaska) tied the score at 3 apiece when he scored at 11:40 in the third. But the Pointers got the game-winner when Andrew Kolb scored 1-minute, 27-seconds into overtime to sweep the weekend series.
The Blue Devils opened the scoring when
Jordan Tredinnick (So, Onalaska) scored five minutes into the game on the power play. The Pointers scored two first period goals by Alex Kromm and Kevin Gibson to take the lead,
Stout tied the score on
Zach Vierling's (So, Coon Rapids, Minn) marker at 8:54 of the second, for Stout's second power play goal of the evening.
Johnny Meo gave the Pointers a 3-2 lead at 10:06 in the third. Cohen scored about 90 seconds later to tie the score.
Tom Lescovich (Sr, Clifton Park, NY) recorded 28 saves for Stout, while Stevens Point's Brandon Jaeger notched 12 saves.
Stout is off until Friday, Jan. 4 when they host Bethel University.
