OSHKOSH (October 26, 2012) - UW-Oshkosh handed UW-Stout a 3-0 loss Friday night at Kolf Sports Center as the Titans took a 25-21, 25-20, 25-23 decision to snap a four-game Blue Devil winning streak.
Oshkosh (19-16, 3-4 WIAC) jumped out to an 11-2 lead in first set, but Stout (15-12, 3-4 WIAC) closed the gap to 23-20 before the Titans took the final two points. Stout took a 12-9 lead in the second set, but Oshkosh came back to take an 18-14 lead and Stout got no closer than four points. The Blue Devils overcame a deficit to build a 23-20 lead only to see the Titans score the last five points of the third set.
Laura Reiter (So, Lino Lakes, Minn) led Stout with 11 kills.
Kate Mikutowski (Sr, Stillwater, Minn) and
Morgan Denny (So, Luck) each had eight kills.
Larissa Krumplitsch led Oshkosh with 11 kills, while Heidi Gors had 10.
Stout still remains in the hunt for a WIAC playoff berth and will be at UW-Whitewater, Saturday, Oct. 27.
