Pointers score early, hold on for 1-0 win over Blue Devils

STEVENS POINT (October 13, 2012) - UW-Stevens Point scored in the first 25 minutes of the game and held onto defeat UW-Stout, 1-0, on a rainy afternoon.

The Pointers' (10-3-0, 4-2-0 WIAC) Kelsey Majerus scored in the 23rd minute and the Pointer defense kept Stout out of the net.

Stout's Robbie Shelby (So, La Crosse) recorded six saves, while the Pointers' Kristen Churkey had one save. Overall the Pointers outshot Stout, 11-3.

Stout will host Hamline University, Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 7:30 p.m.
