Knights come back again to down Stout

ST. PAUL, Minn. (January 21, 2012) - For the second time in less than 24 hours, UW-Stout scored first against St. Norbert, but the eighth ranked Green Knights came back for the win, this time a 2-1 decision at the Xcel Energy Center as part of Hockey Day Minnesota.

Sam Carr (Jr, Roseau, Minn) put the Blue Devils (7-11-1, 3-8-1 NCHA) on the board at the 13:29 mark of the second period, getting an assist from Kevin O'Donnell (So, Stoughton).

Nick Hopper(Jr, Culver City, Calif) shut out St. Norbert (11-4-4, 8-3-1 NCHA) through the first two-and-a-half periods before the Knights' used a power play opportunity for an Alain Joanette score at 8:13 of the third period. Carl Ekstrom and Seth Soley got the assists. Johan Ryd beat Hopper four minutes later for the game winning goal. Mason Baptista and Derek Donohue assisted.

Hopper finished the day with 32 saves, while his counterpart, David Jacobson, tallied 21. St. Norbert had defeated Stout, 4-1, the previous night in Menomonie, scoring four unanswered goals.

Stout returns to the Dunn County Ice Arena, Friday, Jan. 27 when they host UW-Superior at 7:30 p.m. The Blue Devils will host St. Scholastica, Saturday, Jan. 28 at 4 p.m.
