Whitworth 3, UW-Stout 0
TACOMA, Wash (September 3, 2011) - UW-Stout took Whitworth College to an extended first game, but wound up falling, 3-0, in the final match of the University of Puget Sound Tournament Saturday.
Hope Weilage (Jr, Marshall, Minn) finished with six kills, while
Karley Wiensch (Fr, Cadott), who was selected to the all-tournament team, had five kills and 14 assists. Kaimi Rocha and Abi Hedlund each had 11 kills for Whitworth, which took a 26-24, 25-15, 25-11, win.
Earlier in the day, the Blue Devils (0-4) lost to California-Santa Clara, 25-9, 25-15, 25-21. The Blue Devils were limited in kills with Weilage and
Kate Mikutowski (Jr, Stillwater, Minn) each getting four. Katherine Grow led the Banana Slugs with 17 kills.
Stout will be at the St. Catherine Tournament, Sept. 9-10.
