MENOMONIE (September 22, 2010) - UW-River Falls proved to be tough in the blocking game as the Falcons defeated UW-Stout, 3-0, in WIAC action Wednesday at Johnson Fieldhouse.
The Falcons (7-5, 1-2) defeated Stout (1-11, 0-4), 25-18, 25-11, 25-18) as they recorded one solo block by 12 assisted blocks.
The Falcons' Jenna Mettler had four assisted blocks and Jean Theis and Erin Green each had three assisted blocks. Green led all players with 10 kills.
The Blue Devils got seven kills apiece from
Tori Sandstrom (So, Cary, Ill) and
Steph Nichols (Sr, Greendale).
Stout will be at the UW-Platteville Tournament, Friday, Sept. 24 and Saturday, Sept. 25.
