Four goals, four players, Stout ices Pointers

UW-Stout 4, UW-Stevens Point 1

STEVENS POINT (November 19, 2010) - Four different UW-Stout players scored goals and two of them scored within 17 seconds of each other as the Blue Devils blew past UW-Stevens Point, 4-1, Friday at K.B. Willett Arena.

With the score knotted at one goal apiece in the second period, Kevin O'Donnell (Fr, Stoughton) scored on the power play at 12:35 and Stout's leading scorer, Branden Gay (Sr, Calgary, Alberta), followed that up with a power play goal at 12:52 to give the Blue Devils a 3-1 lead.

Dan Cecka (Fr, Woodbury, Minn) added an empty net goal with less than two minutes left in the game to close out the scoring.

Stout (6-3-0, 3-2-0 NCHA, 1-0-0 WIAC) opened the scoring when Jason Cohen (So, Anchorage, Alaska) split the pipes at 10:19 in the first period. The Pointers' (4-4-0, 2-3-0 NCHA, 0-1-0 WIAC) Nick Kenney got an equalizer at 16:11.

Tom Lescovich (So, Clifton Park, NY) recorded 30 saves for Stout, while Nick Graves had 25 saves for the Pointers.

The team will meet again Saturday, Nov. 20 at 7 p.m. in Stevens Point.
