Enerson-Matthews scores 32, Stout whips RF

UW-Stout 78, UW-River Falls 53

RIVER FALLS (January 6, 2010) - Jerrel Enerson-Matthews (Sr, Anoka, Minn) scored 32 points and UW-Stout rode a 19-3 first half run to a 78-53 whipping of UW-River Falls Wednesday at Karges Center.

Trailing by three points midway through the first half, Enerson-Matthews got Stout (6-7, 1-4) going with a bucket and Nathan Staidl (Sr, Lena) gave the Blue Devils a lead they would not give up the rest of the way. Enerson-Matthews tallied 10 points during the decisive run and Jerrod Buchholtz (Jr, Durand) chipped in five points.

Enerson-Matthews scored 18 first half points and Buchholtz contributed eight points as Stout held a 42-30 halftime lead. Enerson-Matthews drained four 3-pointers and finished the night hitting 13-of-20 shots from the floor.  Buchholtz finished the night with 13 points and connected on three 3-pointers.

Wade Guerin scored 23 points to the lead the Falcons (7-7, 1-4) and Jontae Koonkaew added 10 points. The Falcons shot only 29 percent (17-58) on the night from the floor.

Stout will host UW-Platteville, Saturday, Jan. 9 at 6 p.m.
