MENOMONIE, Wis. (January 23, 2010) - Four Blue Devils scored in double figures as Stout got an 85-78 victory over UW-River Falls, Saturday night at Johnson Fieldhouse.

The Blue Devils (9-8, 4-5 WIAC) jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the first three minutes, fueled by five points from Jerrel Enerson-Matthews (Sr, Anoka, Minn.), who finished with 18 points.  The Falcons (8-10, 2-7 WIAC) climbed back into the game and took their first lead halfway through the period.

Trailing by one with three minutes to play in the first half, Mahlon Thomas (Jr, Brooklyn Park, Minn.) provided Stout with a much-needed spark.  The 6-foot-6 junior scored six points on a 9-2 run to close out the half, including his first of three dunks on the evening.

Stout's six-point halftime lead quickly grew into a 13-point lead thanks to a 9-2 run to open the second half.  River Falls, however, answered with a run of their own, cutting the lead down to two.

Several Blue Devils came up with important shots down the stretch to hold off the Falcons.  Thomas threw down an alley-oop, and Eric Hostetter (Jr, Stillwater, Minn.) hit two clutch three-pointers to put away River Falls.

Hostetter ended the game with 18 points while Thomas finished with 14.  River Falls' Jontae Koonkaew lead all players with 23 points and Wade Guerin recorded the game's only double-double, with 19 points and 11 boards.

Stout has now won six of their last eight games, including four of their last five conference matchups.  The Blue Devils will travel to UW-La Crosse this Wednesday, Jan. 27.
