RIVER FALLS (September 30, 2009) - Ali Sonsteby (Jr, Clearwater, Minn) scored the game-winning goal two minutes into overtime as UW-Stout completed a comeback with a 2-1 win at UW-River Falls Wednesday afternoon.

Sonsteby scored unassisted to notch her first goal of the season as Stout (3-7-0, 2-2-0) took to the road for only the third time this season and extended their winning streak to three games.

River Falls (5-4-1, 2-3-0) took the lead in the 32nd minute of the game on a goal by their leading scorer, Eryn Lansverk.

But it wouldn't take the Blue Devils long to knot the score when freshman Emily Stanke (Elk Grove Village, Ill) scored only 30 seconds later.

The Falcons tested freshman goalkeeper Bridget LaVallee (St. Michael, Minn), who turned away seven shots on net to earn her third consecutive win. The Falcons held a 21-9 advantage in total shots. River Falls goalie Rachel Thompson turned away three shots on goal.

Stout returns home for Homecoming on Saturday when they will host UW-Oshkosh at 4 p.m. The team will hold an alumni game at noon.
