Stout 2, Platteville 0 | Live Stats for St. Norbert game

PLATTEVILLE (September 26, 2009) - UW-Stout came out of a rough and tumble game with their first win of the season, a 2-0 win over UW-Platteville that saw the Stout goalkeeper score her first goal of the season.

Kaitlin Arjes (Jr, Owatonna, Minn) put the finishing touches on the win by scoring an unassisted goal in the 81st minute of the game. Arjes put a header on the ball that dropped over the Platteville goalie and rolled into the net.

Arjes, who has played most of the season as an emergency goalkeeper, played the first half in net, but gave way to Bridget LaVallee (Fr, St. Michael, Minn) at the start of the second half. LaVallee got the win by making three saves in the second half. Arjes was not challenged in the first half as the Stout defense did not allow a first half shot on net.

Stout got on board first in the 58th minute when Emily Stanke (Fr, Elk Grove Village, Ill) settled a corner kick and passed to Andrea Greer (Jr, Woodbury, Minn), who scored.

Stout will host St. Norbert College Sunday, Sept. 27 at 3 p.m.
