MENOMONIE (September 26, 2009) - UW-Stout held Eureka College to a school record minus-59 yards rushing and six different players scored as the Blue Devils defeated the Red Devils, 40-6, at Don & Nona Williams Stadium Saturday.

This one was never in doubt. After stopping Eureka (2-2) on a three-and-out on their first drive, the Blue Devils 72 yards in nine plays. Quarterback Carey topped off the drive with a 12-yard pass to Walker to give Stout a 7-0 lead seven minutes into the game.

Stout jumped out to a 9-0 lead when the Eureka punter could not handle the low snap and the ball dribbled out of the end zone. Adam Winberg (So, Coon Rapids, Minn) returned the short kick 39 yards and Carey did the rest on the next play, rushing 34 yards down the Stout sideline for the score.

Stout tacked on three more points late in the quarter to take a 19-0 lead when Martin hit his personal best 46 yards field goal with 15 seconds left in the period.

Eureka got their only points in the second quarter, a 23 yard field goal by Travis Huber midway through the stanza and 41 yard field goal by Huber as time expired. Warminski gave Stout their only second quarter score when he rumbled 23 yards and fell into the end zone on an attempted tackle.

Stout wasted no time getting on the board in the third quarter with Concepcion most of the damage on the opening drive. On second-and-4, Concepcion ran for 24 yards, then ran 8-yards on the following play to the Eureka two-yard line. Concepcion completed the drive on the next play.

Stout's final score of the day came on a drive that started late in the third quarter. It was Fricke's turn to inflict damage onto the Eureka defense. Fricke picked up 53 yards on the 54-yard, eight play drive and he topped it off with a 13 yard run to paydirt.

Defensively, the Blue Devils were all over the Eureka quarterbacks. Jamin Ramsey (Sr, Lodi) led the pursuit, snaring three solo sacks and four tackles for losses of 26 yards. Ryan Pearcy (So, Plover), Justin Rindt (Jr, Grafton) and Brandon Wood (Jr, Cassville) each had a sack. Stout had 12 tackles for losses of 83 yards.
