MENOMONIE (September 19, 2009) - UW-Stout opened the match with third ranked UW-Oshkosh strong, but came out on the short end of an eventual 3-0 decision Saturday at Johnson Fieldhouse.

The Blue Devils (8-5, 0-2) kept the first set tight throughout and took a 25-24 lead on a kill by Kendra Pagel (Sr, Wausau). The Titans (14-0, 2-0) knotted the score at 25 apiece, but Kate Mikutowski (Fr, Stillwater, Minn) put Stout up by one, 26-25, before the Titans rallied back for the 28-26 win.

The second set was more of the same through the majority of play, with neither team taking more than a two point lead until Oshkosh jumped ahead 20-17. The Titans ran the lead to 24-19, then took the 25-20 decision.

There was little doubt in the third set as the Titans captured a 25-15 win for the match.

Andrea Smith and Katie Beining each had 11 kills for the Titans and Jacque Ray added 10 kills. Mikutowski had nine kills for Stout.

Stout will be at the UW-Platteville Tournament, Sept. 25-26. They will meet Oshkosh in the first game.
