MENOMONIE (September 18, 2009) - UW-Stout held Stevens Point's high-powered offense to just one goal, Friday night, but could not put up any points of their own, falling, 1-0, at Nelson Field.

The Pointers (5-1-0, 3-0-0), who average nearly two and a half goals per game, took the lead after just seven minutes when Vicki Bieschke scored on the second shot of the game, a low drifter that found the right side of the net.

The Blue Devils' (0-6-0, 0-2-0) offensive woes continued tonight, as they attempted only two shots in each of the 45-minute periods.

Point's Liz Hunter recorded two saves on the night, while Stout's Kaitlin Arjes (Jr, Owatonna, Minn.) sent away nine shots.

The loss for Stout is their fifth game in which they have been edged by one shot.  Additionally, it is their fourth game out of six in which they lost by a score of 1-0.

The Blue Devils will return to action, Tuesday, Sept. 22 when they play host to undefeated Bethel University at 7 p.m. at Nelson Field.
