2009 NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships
MENOMONIE (May 17, 2009) - Daniel Drewek (So, Athens) qualified to the 2009 NCAA Division III Men's Track & Field Championships in two events - individually in the pole vault and as a member of the 4x100-meter relay team.
Joining Drewek on the relay team team will be Sam Flood (So, Eden), Dan Strong (Sr, Lantana, Fla) and Kendall Wade (Jr, Milwaukee).
The championships are scheduled for May 21-23 at Don Drumm Stadium at Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio.
Drewek qualified automatically in the pole vault after he set a school outdoor record of 17-feet, 1-inch at the UW-La Crosse Last Chance Meet, May 14. Drewek is seeded second in the event to Jake Winder of North Central College. Winder has a seed height of 14-3.75.
The pole vault will be contested Thursday, May 21 at 6 p.m.
The relay team qualified provisionally with a school record time of 41.15 seconds, also at the UW-La Crosse meet. The team is seeded fourth and will compete in the trials May 21 at 3:45 p.m. The finals for the event are on the final day of the meet, Saturday, May 23 at 1 p.m.
Flood qualified provisionally in the 100-meter dash and Wade qualified provisionally in the 200-meter dash. Nate Carey (Jr, Champlin, Minn) qualified provisionally in the 10,000-meter run. Neither Flood, Wade or Carey advanced individually to the meet.
