Men's track to compete at WIAC meet at Oshkosh

2009 WIAC Track & Field Championships

OSHKOSH  (April 30, 2009) - Daniel Drewek (So, Athens) will look to defend his pole vault title when UW-Stout competes at the 2009 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Track & Field Championships, May 1-2, at UW-Oshkosh.

As a freshman, Drewek won the title (16-feet, 0.75-inches) last season at UW-Eau Claire and is currently posting the fourth-best height in NCAA Division III with the same height he won the WIAC title last year. Drewek earlier this year won the 2009 WIAC indoor pole vault title.

As a team, Stout finished seventh last season. The 2009 men's meet gets underway Friday, May 1 at approximately 3 p.m. The second day of competition continues at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 2.
