MENOMONIE  (February 18, 2009) - UW-Stout  looked promising early on, but lost their lead just before halftime, and fell to  UW-River Falls, 74-59, Wednesday, at Johnson Fieldhouse. 
After a Joshua  Huettl (Jr, Eau Claire) three-ball with eight minutes remaining in the  first half, the Blue Devils took a 27-16 lead, their largest margin of the game.  Jerrel Enerson-Matthews (Jr, Anoka, Minn.) helped fuel the run by scoring 12 of  Stout's 27 points.  
The Falcons stormed back, cutting the lead to six after their next two  possessions, then took the lead with two and a half minutes to go in the half.  They stretched their lead to three points at halftime.
River Falls came out on an 11-2 run featuring eight points from Jontae  Koonkaew, who finished the night with a game-high 28 points.
Eight minutes later, the River Falls lead was at 18 points. Stout managed to  get the lead down to 10, but got no closer.
Enerson-Matthews finished the game with 22 points on 9-for-18 shooting from  the field. Mahlon Thomas (So, Brooklyn Park, Minn.) added eight points and seven  rebounds.  
River Falls sophomore Jake Voeltz filled up the box score with 17 points and  a game-high 17 rebounds. Koonkaew also added six assists.
Stout will play their last game of the season, Saturday, when they host  UW-Eau Claire at 3 p.m. at Johnson Fieldhouse, followed by the UW-Stout women at  5 p.m.
