MILITARY APPRECIATION DAY
Military Appreciation Day will be on the agenda when UW-Platteville and UW-Stout tangle Saturday, Nov. 7 at 3 p.m. at Don & Nona Williams Stadium.
The Blue Devils (6-2, 3-2) still have a shot at scoring their second NCAA tournament bid, but do need to beat the Pioneers (3-5, 1-4) Saturday and UW-Oshkosh next weekend to keep their hopes alive. Stout is currently in third place in the WIAC, behind UW-Whitewater (5-0) and UW-Stevens Point (4-1). Stout's only losses of the season came at the hands of the Warhawks and the Pointers.
Stout beat the Pioneers last season, 46-31, and have won three of the last five meetings.
There will be a pregame tailgate party for all military personnel beginning at noon in the Williams Stadium parking lot. Admission to the game is free to anyone in uniform or with a military ID.
The UW-Stout ROTC will present the colors during the national anthem and the different branches of the military will be honored at halftime as the official songs from each branch will be played. Information tables will also be available inside the stadium throughout the game.
The game will also mark the final home game for 20 Blue Devil senior football players. They will be recognized before the game.
