Stout 3, Superior 1
SUPERIOR (October 7, 2009) - After taking a thumping in the first set, UW-Stout recovered and swept the next three sets to defeat UW-Superior, 3-1, Wednesday.
The Yellowjackets (9-11, 1-3) took the first set, 25-13, but Stout rallied to win the 25-20. The Blue Devils (11-10, 1-3) took the final two sets by identical 25-15 scores.
Tori Sandstrom (Fr, Cary, Ill) finished with 10 kills, while
Kate Mikutowski (Fr, Stillwater, Minn) had nine kills, two solo blocks and two block assists.
Hope Weilage (Fr, Marshall, Minn) finished with three block assists,
Kim Labat (Jr, Marshall, Minn) had 35 assists and
Alicia Mizer (Sr, Barron) wrapped up the night with 27 digs. As a team, Stout had eight block assists.
Stout is off until Wednesday, Oct. 14 when they close out the home portion of their schedule by hosting UW-Eau Claire at 7 p.m.
