RIVER FALLS (October 31, 2009) - For the second day of the UW-River Falls Trick or Treat Classic, UW-Stout split a pair of games as they put the wraps on the 2009 season.
Stout had little trouble with Waldorf College, winning 25-20, 25-23, 25-9.
Kate Mikutowski (Fr, Stillwater, Minn) led all scorers with 11 kills. The Blue Devils (14-19) were able to clear their bench in the contest.
Hope Weilage (Fr, Marshall, Minn) finished with nine kills as the Blue Devils lost to Eau Claire, 25-16, 25-10, 25-13.
Kim Labat (Jr, Marshall, Minn) was named to the all-tournament team.
FIRST DAY COMPETITION
RIVER FALLS (October 30, 2009) - UW-Stout split a pair of games on the first day of the UW-River Falls Trick or Treat Classic Friday.
Stout was on both ends of 3-0 scores, losing to host River Falls in the early game, then turning around and downing Marian Unversity.
The Falcons took a 25-16, 25-15, 25-20 win as no Blue Devil players landed more than seven kills.
The second contest went better, but the second two sets came down the wire as Stout captured a 25-16, 26-24, 25-22 win over the Sabres.
Kate Mikutowski (Fr, Stillwater, Minn) had 13 kills to lead the Blue Devils.
The Blue Devils will close out the 2009 season Saturday, Oct. 31 when they meet Waldorf College at 2 p.m. and wrap up the season with a 4 p.m. contest with UW-Eau Claire.
