Spikers break losing skid

Stout 3, Cardinal Stritch 0 | Viterbo 3, Stout 0

LA CROSSE (September 26, 2008) - The UW-Stout volleyball team snapped an eight-match losing streak with a 3-0 win over Cardinal Stritch in the opening match of the Viterbo Oktoberfest Tournament Friday.

The Blue Devils (3-11) defeated Stritch, 25-22, 28-26, 26-24, then lost to host Viterbo University, 25-17, 25-17, 25-21, in their second match of the day.

Maggie Meixl (Sr, Mankato, Minn) had 16 kills and four block solos in the win. Steph Nichols (So, Greendale) had nine kills in the loss to Viterbo.

The Blue Devils will play Mt. Mercy College and Ashford College Saturday, Sept. 27.
