Blue Devils shut out Pioneers

MENOMONIE  (September 20, 2008) - Jessica Halverson (Sr, Delano, Minn) recorded her second consecutive shutout as UW-Stout went on to 2-0 conference win over UW-Platteville, Saturday at Nelson Field.

Halverson recorded seven saves as she again got enough offensive support.

Grace Salwasser (Fr, Cottage Grove, Minn) put Stout (3-4-1, 2-1-0) on the board early in the game with an unassisted goal in the seventh minute of the game. Thirty minutes later, Kaitlin Arjes (So, Owatonna, Minn) scored unassisted to give Stout the two goal cushion.

Stout outshot the Pioneers, 20-18, overall and 15-7 on net. The Pioneers' (4-2-0, 1-2-0) Hannah Krier recorded 13 saves.

Stout will host the University of Dubuque, Sunday, Sept. 21 at 2 p.m. The game will be available on Live Stats and on a live video stream in a fan in the stands format.

The game is also a celebration of Youth Soccer Month.
