Augustana 3, Stout 0
ROCK ISLAND, Ill (September 1, 2008) - Augustana College scored early in the first half and early twice in the second half to defeat UW-Stout, 3-0, Monday.
Augustana's Erin Coulson scored six minutes into the game. Ashley Higuchi scored five minutes into the second half and Jessica Dodds scored at the 63rd minute on a penalty kick for Augustana (2-0).
The Blue Devils (0-2) labored to get off not only shots on goal, but shots at the net, tallying three total shots and two on goal. Jessica Price (So, Woodbury, Minn) again had her chance, but couldn't get the ball past the goalie. Price also took the first shot of game, only 19 seconds into the contest, but hit the crossbar.
The Augies outshot Stout overall, 20-3, and 8-2 on goal. Stout's Jessica Halverson (Sr, Delano, Minn) had five saves, while Augustana's Kayla Radloff had two saves.
Stout will take to Wisconsin's Fox River Valley next weekend when they are at St. Norbert College, Saturday, Sept. 6 and at Lawrence University, Sunday, Sept. 7.
