Bob Lichty

Bob Lichty begins his second stint as a coach for the Blue Devils in 2014, but it has been three decades since Lichty first coached at Stout. Lichty will work with the Blue Devil linebackers.

Following a season as an assistant football coach at UW-Eau Claire, Lichty was an assistant coach at UW-Stout under Sten Pierce in 1974 before embarking on a career as a guidance counselor throughout various schools in northern and northwestern Wisconsin. Lichty received his bachelor’s degree from UW-Eau Claire, then earned his masters from Stout in guidance and counseling.

Lichty has been a guidance counselor at Wausau Newman, Bruce , Ladysmith and Menomonie high schools until his retirement from Menomonie in 2013. Lichty also coached football in the schools.

Lichty was an assistant football coach from 1978-83 at Mount Senario in Ladysmith until being named the head football coach of the Saints in 1984. Lichty coached at Mount Senario until 1987.

Throughout his career, Lichty has been active in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, serving as a huddle coach.

Lichty and his wife, Carolyn, have one son and one daughter, and three grandchildren.
