Chris Morton

Chris Morton begins his second season with the Blue Devils after starting in the 2013 season and will serve as the defensive line coach.

The Blue Devils' defensive lineman Jamie Rohrig earned second team All-WIAC selection and  Alec Zoern led all conference defensive lineman in tackles with 48.

An All-American offensive lineman during his playing career at NCAA Division II University of South Dakota, Morton earned his masters degreee in Health Education and Promotion at the University of Missouri where he was a graduate assistant, working with the defensive line from 2009 to 2013.

In addition to working with the Tigers' defensive line, Morton also worked with linebackers and safeties. Morton also worked with the Missouri Athletic Department's compliance coordinator.

Morton played at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, SD, from 2003-07 under former Blue Devil coach Ed Meierkort. Morton earned first team AFCA All-America honors in 2007 and was a first team D2Football.com, Daktronics and Don Hansen Football Gazette All-American selection. Morton was a finalist for the Gene Upshaw Lineman of the Year Award in 2006, was a two-time All-North Central Conference first team selection and was named to the NCC commissioner's honor roll. Morton received the school's Dr. John Van Why Athletic Department outstanding male athlete award for 2007-08 and received the Rimington Award in 2006.

Morton graduated from South Dakota in December, 2007, with a bachelor's in business administration.
