Rob Robinson was the UW-Stout men's head golf coach for three seasons (2015-16, 2016-17, 2017-18) after a season as an assistant golf coach in 2014-15. Robinson was an assistant with the Blue Devil men’s basketball team from 2013-16.
During the 2017-18 season, Dylan Kline set a school record with a 67 during the second round of the Culver's Edgewood College Fall Classic.
Robinson’s teams and players have shown great progress to becoming one of the top teams in the nation and region over the last two seasons moving from 95th nationally and 24th regionally in the fall of 2015 to 52nd nationally and 6th regionally in the fall of 2016. His teams have three of the top 10 single round scores in UW-Stout history as well as the individual single day record being tied or set by his players six times (currently a 68 by both Kraig Joy on April 29, 2016 and Mitch Simonet Oct. 2, 2016).Â
Robinson is currently the director of golf at Princeton Valley Golf Course in Eau Claire. Robinson recently served the same position at Tanglewood Greens in Menomonie.
Robinson worked at Chequamegon Bay Golf Club in Ashland, Wis., from 2002-12, as an assistant pro and again in 2014 as the Director of Golf Operations.
Throughout his tenure at the club, Robinson worked with the junior program, ages 5-17, directed day-to-day pro shop operations, planned leagues and tournaments and worked with customer service as well as individual lessons. He also was a golf instructor for 16 years at Northland College.
Prior to coaching at UW-Stout, Robinson began his coaching career at Northland College in 1994 as a men’s assistant, helping the Lumberjacks reach the NAIA national tournament in 1996. Â
After two years with the men's program, Robinson accepted the position to become Northland’s head women's basketball coach.  Robinson turned the program around and was named UMAC Coach of the Year five consecutive years, leading the Lumberjills to five conference championships and two NAIA national tournament appearances.Â
In 2004, Robinson returned to the men's program at Northland as their head coach. During his eight seasons, Robinson graduated four 1000 point scorers. Academically, his teams achieved a 3.10 GPA or higher each year and the Lumberjacks received the UMAC academic award in 2009 with a 3.59 GPA.
In 2012 Robinson reunited with his college basketball coach, Eddie Andrist, as an assistant men's basketball coach at UW-Stout.
Robinson was the Blue Devils' men's assistant golf coach for the 2014-15 season.
Robinson’s collegiate basketball playing career took place from 1988-92 at Mount Senario College (Ladysmith, Wis), playing for Coach Andrist. Interesting enough, Robinson played three years for Coach Andrist and in 1991, Robinson was crowned a National Collegiate Basketball Champion as the Fighting Saints won their first ever national basketball title. Â
Robinson received his bachelors in Recreation Management and Business from Mount Senario in 1993. Robinson and his wife, Diana, reside in Menomonie.
