Hannah Iverson was named the ninth head coach of the University of Wisconsin-Stout women’s basketball team in April 2018 and holds a 112-62 (.644) record.
 

UW-STOUT (2018-Present)


In her six seasons at UW-Stout, Iverson has become the programs second winningest coach. She led the Blue Devils to a share of the 2023 WIAC regular season championship, their first conference since 2007. The 2024 WIAC Tournament Title and the programs first NCAA Tournament appearance since the 2007 season. In 2025 the Blue Devils advanced to the NCAA Division III Final Four. 

Iverson has coached 20 All-WIAC selections, five WIAC All-Defensive Team members, two WIAC Newcomers of the Year honorees, and six D3hoops.com All-Region selections, an WBCA All-American and two D3hoops.com All-American honorees.
 
In the classroom, Iverson has coached 77 WIAC Scholastic Honor roll honorees, and 13 CSC Academic All-District selections.

2024-25: The Blue Devils made history in 2024-25. Advancing to the programs first ever NCAA Division III Final Four. Stout went 23-8, 10-4 to finish second in the WIAC. Stout hosted the first and second rounds of the NCAA Division III tournament, defeating Ripon (87-57) and No. 6 Whitman (75-69) to advance to the Sweet 16 for the second consecutive year. Stout then topped rival Whitewater 62-56 to advance to their first ever Elite 8 topping host No. 5 Scranton 81-77 before falling in the final four to No. 1 New York Univ. 74-55. Stout had four all-WIAC honorees, an All-WIAC defensive team member, two all-region selections and an All-American. Raegan Sorensen wrapped up her career with numerous accolades. First-Team All-WIAC, D3hoops.com First-Team All-Region, D3hoops.com Second-Team All-American, and WBCA Honorable Mention All-American. She led the WIAC and was 20th in the nation shooting 55.0 percent from the floor, scored 30 or more points four times. and finished her career has the programs all-time leading scorer with 1754 points and 737 rebounds (fifth all time). Anna Mutch was named All-WIAC, third-team D3hoops.com All-Region, and was fifth all-time with 1449 career points. Amanda Giesen was named First-Team All-WIAC and finished her career sixth with 1330 career points. Sam Schaeffer was named to the All-WIAC Defensive Team Lex Wagner was Honorable Mention All-WIAC. She shot 45.7 percent from 3-point range (fourth in the nation). She led the WIAC and was 17th in the nation in 3-pointers per game (2.88)and set a school record and tied a WIAC single game record with nine (9-14) made 3-point field goals against UW-Eau Claire on Jan. 22

2023-24: The Blue Devils finished the season 23-8 overall, winning the WIAC tournament Championship to qualify for the NCAA Tournament for the first time since the 2007 season. Stout advanced to their first NCAA Sweet 16 since 2006. The Blue Devils led the WIAC in scoring, averaging 72.9 points a game and had  scoring margin on 13.9 points. Stout shot 45 percent from the field, which was 10th in the nation. Stout defeated four top-25 ranked teams including No. 4 Whitewater and No. 8 Oshkosh on the road. The Blue Devils started the season 11-1, then dropped six of seven before winning 11 straight before falling in the NCAA Sweet 16. Raegan Sorensen was named All-WIAC, All-WIAC Defensive team and All-Region and All-American. Anna Mutch and Amanda Giesen and Lexi Wagner each received All-WIAC honors.

2022-23: The Blue Devils finished the season 18-8 overall, averaging 68.5 points per game (second in the WIAC). After a season opening loss, the Blue Devils rattled off 10-straight victories, including a win over No. 19 ranked UW-Oshkosh. The Blue Devils tied a school record with 12 made 3-point field goals against Dominican (Ill.). Stout overcame a 17-point first-half deficit to rally to a double overtime win against UW-La Crosse. Stout beat rival UW-Eau Claire on the final game of the season to claim a share of the WIAC regular season championship and earn a first round bye in the conference tournament. Raegan Sorensen was named All-WIAC, All-WIAC Defensive team and All-Region. Anna Mutch and Amanda Giesen each received All-WIAC honors.

2021-22: The Blue Devils finished the conference season as the No. 2 seed in the WIAC Tournament, hosting a second-round tournament game for the first time since the 2006-07 season. Freshman Raegan Sorensen was selected as the WIAC women’s basketball newcomer of the year and was an All-WIAC honorable mention choice, along with Amanda Giesen and Anna Mutch. Sorensen hit back-to-back buzzer beaters to defeat UW-Stevens Point and UW-Platteville. Sorensen also threatened the school scoring record when she scored 36 points against Aurora College in December, three points short of the school record.
 
2020-21: Freshmen Anna Mutch and Tess Johnson were selected to the  All-WIAC honorable mention team and Mutch was selected as the conference's newcomer of the year in a year that saw the regular season trimmed down to only eight regular season games, plus the WIAC Championship tournament, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

2019-20: The Blue Devils played four overtime games, the most in a single UW-Stout season in school history. And not only did the Blue Devils play overtime games, but two of the contests went into double overtime. Stout was 3-1 in overtime, dropping one double overtime contest. Stout advanced to the WIAC Championship tournament, falling to eventual tournament champion UW-Oshkosh.  Forward Amber Fabeck and guard Shannan Watkins were first team All-WIAC selections. Watkins was a member of the WIAC all-defensive team. 

2018-19: Iverson's first season with UW-Stout took off as the Blue Devils rolled off 10 consecutive wins to start the season, the first time in school history that has happened. The Blue Devils finished the season at 18-9 overall, 7-7 in the competitive WIAC. Stout hosted a WIAC tournament game for the first time since the 2013-14 season, finishing fourth in regular season league play.
 

ASSISTANT COACHING CAREER


University of Wisconsin-Green Bay (2016-18): Spent two seasons as the director of player development where her role with the team pertains to player management, program operations and assisting in the set up of on-campus recruiting and coordinating official and unofficial visits for potential recruits.
University of Illinois (2014-16): Served as the director of basketball operations at the University of Illinois and was responsible for all aspects of game scheduling, team travel, practice scheduling and special appearances, and was the staff’s chief liaison with the rest of the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics.
Ashford University (Iowa) (2012-14): Spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Ashford University. She helped the Saints to the 2014 Association of Independent Institutions tournament championship, earning Ashford a berth in the NAIA Division II Women’s Basketball Championship tournament, the first conference title and appearance in the NAIA D-II tournament in Saints history.
 

PLAYING CAREER


Iverson played basketball at UW-Green Bay where she finished in the top 10 for games played in program history while leading the Phoenix to one of its best four-year stretches ever. She helped Green Bay to a 122-13 record – including a 68-4 mark in Horizon League play – four NCAA Tournament berths and a trip to the Sweet 16 in 2011. She led the Horizon League in assist-to-turnover ratio in 2011-12, was sixth in steals per game and ninth in assists per game. She was also named to the Horizon League Honor Roll, earned the UW-Green Bay Chancellor’s Leadership Medallion, was a two-time recipient of the UW-Green Bay University Leadership Award and the Patricia Hinckley Scholarship, and won the JoAnne Jennings Award in 2012.
At Eau Claire North High School, Iverson was a four-year varsity starter and scored over 1,000 career-points. She was an McDonald’s All-American Nominee. She was the conference player of the year as a junior and senior and a four-time all-conference selection. She earned All-conference honors in volleyball and soccer. Set the school record for most goals and assists in a season.
 

PERSONAL


 A Eau Claire native, Iverson earned a bachelor’s degree in human biology with an emphasis in health science and minors in human development and biology from UW-Green Bay in 2012. She went on to complete her master’s degree in organizational management with a specialization in organizational leadership from Ashford University in 2014.She is married to Ryan Iverson, and are the parents of Leo, Myla, Max and Dayla. Ryan is also a native of Eau Claire and played baseball collegiately at UW-Stevens Point. Both Hannah and Ryan were inducted into the Eau Claire North Hall of Fame in 2018.
