2025 will be Derek Branch’s 12th year as a Blue Devil assistant Coach and tenth has full-time assistant.
UW-STOUT (2016-Present)
2024: The Stout offensive that averaged 393.1 yards of offense and 118.7 on the ground. In WIAC play Stout allowed just six sacks, was a perfect 27-27 in the redzone, and had the number one scoring offense. Luke Arzyck and Luke Mertens were named All-WIAC with Parzych being named named D3football.com second-team All-Region.
2023: The Stout offense averaged 430.8 yards per game and 136.9 yards on the ground while allowing just 19 sacks on 430 drop backs. Jesus Ambriz was first-team All-WIAC and second-team All-Region.
2022: The Blue Devils offensive averaged 424.9 yards of offense (second in the WIAC) 256.8 through the air and 168.1 on the ground averaging 6.2 yards per play. The Blue Devils scored 32.2 points a game (fourth in the WIAC). Jacob Foss earned second team All-WIAC recognition.
2021: Sophomore offensive lineman Jacob Foss earned second team All-WIAC selection and center Justin Schlangen was an honorable mention selection.
2020: Season canceled due to COVID-19
2019: Center Bailey Roux earned second team all-WIAC honors
2018: Caleb Adams was a first team all-WIAC selection and a D3football.com All-Region second team pick. Center Bailey Roux earned second team all-WIAC honors and lineman Alex Negoski was a honorable mention pick.
2017: Branch was instrumental in the development of offensive lineman Caleb Adams, who was a first team all-WIAC selection and a D3football.com All-Region third team pick.
2016: In his first season back with the Blue Devils in 2016, Branch helped to further develop first team all-WIAC and all-district pick Kane'ala Atchison-Keolanui.
BEFORE UW-STOUT
Concordia University St. Paul (2007-15) He spent his first six years working with the offensive line prior to being appointed to running backs and tight ends for the 2013 season. His tenure at Concordia was highlighted by coaching former All-America left tackle Tyler Hendrickson, a finalist for the Gene Upshaw Award who signed a free agent NFL contract with the Chicago Bears. In 2014 as running backs coach, the Golden Bears bruised opponents on the ground with five 200-plus yard rushing and a pair of 300-plus rushing performances along with the NSIC's individual rushing title holder as Tre Spears carried the ball for 1,254 yards, the programs first league rushing title holder.
Hamline University (2005-06) Branch served as a key assistant on the coaching staff at Hamline University coaching the defensive line for his first season. He was promoted to offensive coordinator for the 2006 season where he implemented an offensive package.

PERSONAL
A New Brighton, Minn. native, Branch earned his bachelor’s degree in in marketing and business education from UW-Stout in 2004 and his master’s degree in health, physical education and recreation from South Dakota University in 2006. Derek and his wife Shannon reside in Menomonie with their sons Max and Mason and daughter Mila. Shannon is the Principal at Knapp Elementary School in the Menomonie School District.
Branch is also an instructor in the Kinesiology, Health, Food and Nutrition Sciences department.
