Meagan Ward won the pentathlon hurdles and the pentathlon 800m at the UW-Stevens Point Invitational and Multi with a time of 9.21 and 2:28.56 en route to 3,524 point finish in the pentathlon, a point total that sits fifth in the NCAA Division III. Ward finished second in the pentathlon and her time in the hurdles would have been third in the open events and her 800 time would have placed her ninth in the open 800. Ward’s point total surpassed the school record.
Jessika Smith, Sr, Onalaska, Wis. (Luther)
Jessika Smith, won the pentathlon at the UW-Stevens Point Invitational and Multi breaking her own school record with a score of 3,594 points, a 150 point personal best and currently sits third in the NCAA Division III. In the pentathlon events, Smith was first in the three field events – the high jump (1.61m, 5-3.25), the shot put (12.41m, 40-8.75) and the long jump (5.35m, 17-6.75), and second in the hurdles (9.43) and third in the 800-meter (2:31.03). Had Smith posted those same marks in the open events, she would have won the high jump and the long jump and been fourth in the shot put.
