Armani Tinsley scored 31 points in leading UW-Stout to a 95-90 double overtime win over UW-Eau Claire, Jan. 12. Trailing by 11 at halftime, the Blue Devils pulled to with 50-48 and the game became a shoot-out, with both teams trading baskets. Tinsley was instrumental in keeping the game close, hitting five of eight 3-pointers and creating opportunities for others with his passing as well as being a hawk on the board, pulling down as many missed shots as he could. Tinsley finished with nine rebounds and six assists to go with his career-high 31 points. In the second overtime, Tinsley came up with a steal and the ensuing layup to give Stout a two-point lead. Stout took the lead back on a 3-pointer by Lovell Williams with an assist by Tinsley, a lead that would hold up the rest of the way. In the second overtime, Tinsley, who played 44 minutes in the game, had four of Stout’s nine points and recorded a steal and an assist. For the season, Tinsley is averaging 15.8 points per game and has scored in double figures the last eight games.
