A defensive tackle, he is the only player in Stout's football annals to be selected for first team All-America honors. He was recognized on both the NAIA and Eastman Kodak teams for his defensive play in 1979. Bullis was a 1979 third team AP Little All-America selection. Bullis was a mainstay of Blue Devil squads that earned national acclaim for their defense, he was a three-time all-conference selection and was the conference's most valuable player in his senior year. Bullis was selected to the WIAC All-Time Football team in 2012.
