University of Wisconsin-Stout Athletics

A standout in two sports, he lettered in baseball and football in each of his four years at Stout. As a defensive back, he earned all-district honors in 1964 and 1965 and All-American honors in 1965, a conference championship year. Leadership skills developed as co-captain of the squad served him well later in his career as a coach and athletic director at Seymour High School.
