University of Wisconsin-Stout Athletics

A three-time NAIA national track and field competitor, Fechhelm won conference titles in the 110m and 400m hurdles in 1973 and 1974. He was Stout's track MVP in 1973-74 and captain in 1974. A member of Stout's 1972 conference championship team, Fechhelm held four hurdle records upon graduation in 1974. He was an assistant track coach at Milwaukee's Custer High School when the team won the state title in 1977, and he also coached the girls' basketball team to the state semifinals in 1977. Fechhelm is employed as a materials manager.
