One of the most decorated offensive linemen in UW-Stout football history, Ben Knepper, who played from 2001-03, was a two-time All-American and during his senior year was selected first team All-America by five publications - AP Little All-America, American Football Coaches Association, D3football.com, College Sports Information Directors and Don Hansen Weekly Football Gazette. Approximately 65 percent of the plays were run to Knepper's side in 2003. A two-time first team All-WIAC selection (2002, 2003), Knepper allowed only one sack during his last two years, that coming in the first game of his junior year, going more than 700 consecutive plays without allowing a sack. Knepper, who played in the 2003 Aztec Bowl, was selected to the WIAC Centennial All-Time football team in 2012.
